Norman Jay -- Good Times

Norman Jay is wikkid, man! He's got an MBE! He's from Notting Hill in London, and if anyone best represents what the Notting Hill Carnival is like, it's him. He's been DJing at it for 3 decades with his Good Times Sound System. Here's an example of an hour of one of his sets at the carnival.

And, like almost every successful part of the London House scene, this has expanded into a series of CDs. Take a listen to the 30 Year anniversary CD below.

Sadly, he didn't bring the Good Times to the festival this year. But he did play at The Big Chill Festival.

The Big Chill Festival is held in a castle in Herefordshire, and Norman Jay traditionally takes over the main stage on the Sunday afternoon. Here's his set from this year's party.

  • Joe Thomas – Plato’s Retreat
  • Candi Staton – When You Wake Up Tomorrow
  • Omar – Feeling You
  • The Detroit Experiment – Think Twice
  • Soloman – I Keep Forgettin’ Recycled
  • Chic – Everybody Dance
  • Fries & Bridges – Forever This
  • Dennis Ferrer – Hey Hey
  • Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams
  • Robyn S – Love For Love
