DJ Shadow -- The Music That Inspired "Endtroducing"

"Endtroducing" by DJ Shadow is just one of those albums that when you listen to it the first time, you just sit there, gobsmacked at it all going on. It came out in 1996, but I only got it years later. I think someone bought this for me as a present on vinyl. It just seemed right to have this on vinyl. The whole album is one huge collection of samples, drawing on everyone from Nirvana to Kraftwerk.

Here's a download from the radio show BBC 6 Mix with an interview with DJ Shadow explaining his influences and what drove him to create this ground-breaking album. It's a good listen.
